What Women Want
…on their man: purple plaid
Why? Because a man in purple is confident. He is comfortable in his masculinity and isn’t afraid to branch out from the normal hues of greens, reds and blues. And it’s not just me; I can’t tell you how many couples I’ve run into shopping in which I overhear a woman trying to convince her significant other to give purple a try. I’m loving this tartan plaid button down by J. Crew
Oh, and don’t do pink. It’s not the same.

…from their man: a slouchy sweater
Why? We feel sexy in an oversized, luxe sweater. Maybe it’s an off the shoulder cowl neck or a chunky cable knit. Either way, we like that you think we’re beautiful in something other than tight jeans and a tank. I like this one from Martin + Osa:

It’s amazing how well guys can be swayed (most times in a better direction) by their girlfriends or girls in general. I know at least 3 of my friends that have their outfits “Girlfriend / Wife Approved” before leaving the house. That’s also why I would hire 3 ladies for every 1 guy if I were to open a menswear boutique.

Hopefully these men have significant others with good taste…And if you open a menswear shop, I’ll help you recruit!

Purple’s dope. My best friend’s favorite color is purple, I’ll have to tell him he’s ahead of the curve. Cool segment. I’ve totally had friends rag on something, then a girl says she thinks it’s cool and they’re all for it then. And do we all really say we like tight jeans and a tank that much?

I’ll only condone what I know is awesome for men. Glad you enjoyed it. I think I’m gonna add it to my weekly entries. It’s a fun one.

Awesome post. The fact is guys dress well to impress women the majority of the time, so this is a key recurring segment. Purple is a color I have always wanted to work in more. Looking to find a few pieces soon.

I’m glad you like it! I definitely enjoy doing it. I’ll post another one soon. Most things I post I’m sure guys have tried/ want to try. But I like to give reinforcement to their efforts

So, I’m lucky. My husband will for the most part wear or at least try on anything. He needs to be careful with purple because of his skin color…but, we keep attempting. He’ll wear cranberry, kissed blue/green, plum, & for Cinco de Mayo a striking orange shirt. I LOVE shopping for men’s clothing more than women’s for myself. (Though I am considering that off- the-shoulder black sweater!)
I’m looking forward to your weekly suggestions.

That is so great that you have husband who is open to new and more daring colors. Sometimes men feel limited in their clothing options, as compared to women, but it’s amazing what even a pop of a new color will do to his outfit! Glad you enjoyed!
